Does this make sense
SO I was looking at the axle codes on TTORA and based on what it says, my truck has 7.5" diff, not an 8". (B03A= 4.10 gears, 7.5").
Given that its 4wd and a V6, does that seem right?
If I have a 7.5", that means I could never swap in a elocker, correct? Or at least to do so would require a lot more parts swapping.
Thanks,
Ian

the front axle or the rear?
the rear should be an 8", unless its a non trd taco then its an 8.4 or something... however in the rear you do not have a 7.5
and even with the 7.5, there are tons of lockers still available

Hey man, I had that same problem about a week ago. A buddy of mine has some 4.56 3rd's that he has left over after his SAS and I was trying to figure out my axle codes to see if these diff's would work. I ran into the same problem. The axle code in my door jam is BO3A also. Ive got a v6 Ex Cab Taco, non-TRD. I am yet to figure this out. I had always thought my front end was 7.5" and my rear end was 8.4". I had to postpone my quest to figure this out because of Finals, but as of a week from today, the search continues. Im interested to see what you can find out.

Well, I'm pretty sure the part about it being 4.10 gears is right, just cause that seems standard. I think we both need to look elsewhere for axle codes, cause it just seems unlikely that we would have 7.5" in the back-if we did we probably be the only two....

Yah, you are right about the 4.10 gears. I have looked at quite a few different websites but have come up with nothing i didnt already know. My only thought at this poitn is that my roomate has a 98 TRD Tacoma. Ill have him take a look at his axle code and see what it says. We know the TRD rear end is 8", so we'll see what his axle code is. If it says B03A for example, we will know something isnt right. Other than that, Im just going to keep searching. I feel pretty certain that we've got 8.4" rear-ends, but Id still like to see it in writing.
