does this look dumb

does the hitch stick out too far, making it look stupid? im undecided on whether to keep it in there or remove it till its useful.

my 3rd hitch-hole cover thing was stolen and im tired of spending 8 dollars for new ones

It doesn't look too bad. Just don't let it get rusty. Besides, it will be usefull if you get rear ended.

I have the same stainless steel Bully hitch. Never even crossed my mind that it looks any different from other hitch tongues.

I think it looks good, and if you get rearended its not your fault. They cant do anything to you. The shinyness of it may help keep em back.

I'd worry more about getting that thing jacked. Put a hitch lock on it. I keep mine on year round. Protects my rear from people who don't know how to parallel park. IF you go off road, take it off.

Btw if you take that plastic sticker off and stick it on the the top of the part that goes into the receiver, you'll get a perfectly snug fit. It won't rattle at all.

p.s.
Ground Clearance: 9.8 in
It's 11" stock

If it looks 'dumb' or not is purely a subjective issue. The first time you walk behind the truck and bang your shin on it, you will realize the real meaning of 'dumb'. And I have known the meaning of 'dumb' on more than one occasion. Now I put the ball mount away unless I am using it. Not so 'dumb' anymore.

I always drive around with my hitch reciever in! Some lady rear ended me at a stoplight, and well you should have seen her front bumper! She didnt leave a scratch on mine!

I did that on a number of occasions. VERY painfull.

Realize also that if you leave it in, you'll develop a rattling hitch as the metal will start to give just enough for the reciever to jiggle around in there. If you are like me and hate rattles...its one that you can easily avoid.

Id just get a generic cheap cover from Walmart or something. Actually, I wouldnt get anything...just leave it be

Hey, Noob, we don't take much to flaming on this board. Asking an opinion is always welcomed on this board. If you don't have anything worthwhile to say then don't. BTW, welcome to the board!!!

As for my opinion, I think it looks alright. I think it would look better if it was black to make it more stealthy looking, but not sure if they make one or not.

Remove it and replace it with a hitch light from Wal-Mart. About $10 and plugs right into the hitch wiring harness.

It comes on when you brake.

Hehe, I like it... They would probably steal the hitch though before that, hehe.

I just leave mine gaping open. But then again I only bought the hitch as protection from the stupid old women drivers around here who can barely walk but for whatever reason feel the need to drive. I hate them. So does my rear bumper. Which I just had replaced.

Looks good. Mine sticks out about 2-3" further than that. I think the boat would be too close to the hatch if I had one like that.

I don't leave mine on all the time. Usually take it off when I unhook the boat. Then mine is open. I have two of those Toyota covers that I would put on, but someone will just steal it.
