Does this color make me look fat?

What color should I paint my skidplate? It's just the stock one, but I feel like painting it. My truck is dark green and all the trim is black. I don't have a lift, so although i want to do a red or something liek that, it might look like i'm a poser since it's just a stock skid and not even lifted. I'm leaning towards black, that way i'll get rust protection without the bling. What do you think?

Black, Red, Yellow, Purple, Tangerine-mango, gold, platinum...???

I think it would make your truck look cheap to go with any bright (red/yellow/etc.) colors. I'd stay dark and discreet.

I posted this last year when I had my stock one off. I was dying to paint it bright yellow. "Data" set me straight on that one...

Why would you want to draw attention to your skidplate instead of your truck?
IMO a colored skidplate would look embarassing.

embarassing, especially if it was red. It would literally be blushing.

God that was lame.

Anyway I think I have pretty much decided on black, simply because anything else would be a poser-move, especially w/ no lift or any other really impressive off road enhancements like an ARB w/ winch, missile launchers, etc.

I don't think that's a poser thing, i just think it's tacky. You're not pretending you have something you don't. I think poser is putting a lift and big tires on a 2wd. Totally useless except for image, IMO, and wastes gas and other resources.

Depends if you're afraid of looking fat or "phat." Stick with black...

Yep, mine stayed black. I looked at it from a practical standpoint in the end. What would look better, black that conceals stone chips and is easy to touch up, or a light color that would be two tone before long with a mixture of paint and oxidation.

Thumbs down

If you have to paint it, paint it black. Anything else would be a huge mistake, IMO.
