Does anyone know the rollout schedule for the '05 Taco?

I showed my wife the '04 Taco DC this past weekend and she says it's her next truck!! By September, I'll owe less than $10K on her '99 X-cab V6, auto, 4x4, TRD and it will have just joined the 100K club. I think I'll be able to get $10K for it with winter coming on..... so I need to start to plan to get an '04 DC.

Does anyone know if the '05 DC will be available right away at the start of the new model year (September??)? If they are, I would expect there to be some closeout discounts, right? If the DC is coming later, then closeouts might be for everything but DC's.

I did a search and found some posts about the '05 models, but nothing about the roll out schedule.

Your help is appreciated. TIA.

Randy

Basically, no - nobody's got any clues so far. Articles have claimed rollouts ranging from 'mid-summer' to 'autumn'. The most popular unofficial estimate is September. '04 Taco production will cease at NUMMI by or during August 2004 (Source: Production Mgmt. @ NUMMI). Rumor had it that Toyota would unveil the remaining '05 models, etc., at the NY Auto Show (April 9 - ??). Advance press releases from the show started appearing yesterday (4/07), and there's absolutely no mention of the Taco in the Toyota exhibits, etc. Either they're keeping everything VERY secretive (at the show) or they're not gonna give us clues as the rumors suggested.

One of the editors at pickuptruck.com stated he was going to the NY show to take photos of the new 2005 Tacoma. Hopefully he had reliable info that the truck would be there.

I think in the 2005 Tacoma thread here somebody said that they might have stopped making the '04 Taco DCs, so if you want the 04 I would be searching to find out if that is true. This might mean you need to see what inventory looks like in your area for those. If inventory is good you probably have time to buy, or else you might have to wait a while for the new 05 DC.

Good luck, search the 2005 Tacoma thread

Over at thecarconnection.com there was an article on Toyota's truck plans. The Toyota factory rep stated that pricing for the 2005 Tacoma would be publicly announced sometime in September. However, what was surprising was that, if necessary, there would be incentives available on this new model. Production begins in September at the NUMMI plant, and in December at the Baja plant.

Is anyone else interested in the toyota X Runner when it comes out? Stock 240hp and 275 tq. LSD rear end.

Im thinking that 4.0L v6 is going to need a T3, a piggyback system, short throw shifter, fuel delivery upgrades, intake and exhaust....

I want 300 or better on the ground.
