since i installed my LC engineering headers on my 98 2.7L i have noticed a flapping or ticking sound whenever i accelerate. this started happening about a month after the install. do I have an exhaust leak? it sounds like it is coming from the headers. if it is an exhaust leak... would i have to replace the gasket? or can i just try and tighten the nuts??

I bet its a leak from around the header flange to the manifold. I would try tightening down the nuts (solved the header leak on my dad's Chevelle anyway). Otherwise I don't know.... Maybe you can remove the header and readjust the gasket, or maybe you put the wrong gasket on, if the kit came with several.

 

The header bolts on my friends mustang always had to be tightened too or there would be an exhaust leak. Sounds like its what is wrong with yours. Try tightening them and see if it fixes the leak.
