My 2000 Tacoma doesn't seem to correspond to the TSB or other threads I can find. My DRL module is under my dash above the gas pedal (at least I think that's it :confused: ). The connector (D8) has these wires coming in...http://prosgetpaid.com/tacodrl.html

So is Pin #2 (the one I'm supposed to cut) the black w/orange stripe? or the purple w/yellow stripe?

I've read that a 2000 4Runner had a black w/yellow stripe. I would have thought the 2000 Tacoma would have been the same, but....

Ya....The DRL module is in the same spot on 3rd gen 4runners......I cut pin #2 and it worked fine....but mine wasn't the same color as it said in the tech write up.....Just cut it a few inches back from the connector, that way if it doesn't work, you can splice it back together.

 

Okay, how do I know which one is the #2 pin. They are not labeled and assuming I just start counting from the outside in, I'll do it if I know which row to concentrate on.

 

There should be 2 larger pins on either the left or right side of the connector depending on how you look at it. Cut the inner wire.....here are some pics from the tech section.

Disconnect PIN 2 (Black/Orange stripe) wire of D8.
