Dig locking up on 2000 v6 trd

When slowly stopping or at really slow speeds rolling to a stop my truck completely locks up and jolts to a stop. I haven't had a chance to check much of anything but I'm pretty worried about what might be wrong. I just bought the truck back in feb. and the previous owner said that the rear diff was rebuilt recently. I'm wondering if they didn't do it right. Any ideas?

Have personally felt something like that happen when the driveshaft is out of phase. The 2 inner "C's" have to be inline with each other....like in this picture

Aren't the splines on a Toyota slip yoke keyed so the driveshaft can be assembled only the right way?
