Diff question

Hey guys haven't been around much, money has been low so mods haven't been happening with my 4runner. My buddy is tearing down his 4runner and bought a few rear axles sot see what he wanted out of each. He found out that one has a Detroit or similar locker in it. it is a v6 diff but out of a 2nd gen. my question is, is the Detroit or lockrite from a 2nd gen v6 going to be compatible with my 3rd gen diff with the 3.4??

could always crossreference the part # with detroit and see if it also works. Its not that hard to get the third out of the rear. Just remember to clamp the rubber hose line so all your brake fluid doesnt go everywhere.
