I am in the market to replace my 99 Silvarado. I have a 98 4runner which is a great vehicle. My question: Is the Tacoma as reliable as the 4runner? Looking at a 02 or 03 DCAB 4wd.

I think they're just as reliable. I've got an '02 ext. cab 4x4 and I plan on keeping it for a long time. Just take care of it and you should be fine. The tacoma and the 4runner are very similar vehicles as they share the same platform. I'm sure someone else can elaborate better than I could on that...

toyota's mechanical quality cant be beat, namely by a silverado!

taco's are just as reliable as 4runners. if buying used, just be sure it was taken care of (oil changed along with other regular fluid maintenance) and you'll be all set.
