I called my local Toyta Dealership and was talking to them about installing the 99 4WD coils (1 inch taller) on my 98. The guy said he wasnt even sure if they would fit . Then he quoted me $108 PER COIL. $432 bucks for the whole sha-bang.The 99's will fit, correct? Are all 99 coils 1 inch taller, or just cetain ones?

Sadly I think I can do one better on your story. Yesterday I priced getting the O2 sensors replaced at my dealer, the quote was over $500?? $200+ in labor, 1.5 per. I knew they would be high, I mostly got the quote just to see how high but I was completely amazed by that price. I'm surprised they didn't quote you $2000 for the springs.

Think I'll get some sensors from URD and put them on myself. I'm not too wrench savy but damn, they don't look that tough to replace. Besides I know if I have a problem there are people on here I can get advice from.

 

The O2 sensor are about the easiest part on the truck you can replace. Only PITA is when the nuts on the studs are severly rusted like they are on mine (sometimes you need to cut the nut in half with a dremel tool to remove it). That can make it a bit more challenging, but still doable even for a novice.

 

man just do them your self, you can usually pick up the springs for under $75 a piece. the rear is super easy to do, the front is a little more difficult because you need a spring compressor, which you can pick up pretty cheap. it would probably only take you 3 hours if you had a buddy help you.
