Where can i find a new door seal? I've searched hi and low and I can't find anything. I'm not even sure if it's called a door seal, gasket or weather stripping. Please help. My truck smells a little mildewy after I drive it in these monsoon rains. thanks.

 

Your best bet for a part like that would be the dealer for a new one. They are'nt generally that expensive so far as I know.
You could post up in the parts wanted sub-forum. Include the model and year of your truck and precisly which seal it is that is broken ie the door mounted seal or the gutter seal for example.

 

thanks, Yeah I called the stealership, the ordered the door weatherstrip and it will run me 85 bucks, that sucks, but oh well i need it. Also while I was on the phone with then I inquired about the rusty frame issue. I'm glad to say that my truck is not one with the issue. Thanks Aviator for your reply.

 

Its sounds like you needed new weather stripping and yes, the stealer ship ripped you off.

The positive side is your new piece will be about as easy as an install can be. The down side is you could have bought a 6' length for about $30 and then you would have just had to convince it to fit into your door jam.

At least with the dealer piece there is no guess work.

 

You may feel like you paid a ton, but just from doing some reading it sounds like the Toyota rubber is much, much better quality and lasts far longer than whatever generic weatherstripping you can find.

 

85 bucks for OEM quality that is going to last another 200,000 miles? What a steal!

 

I like to go oem as much as possible. Yeah its a bit pricey but like it was stated before, installation should be a breeze and the quality superior.

 

all good points. I know when I went to my dealer they wanted $91 plus tax. So I immeadatley started looking for other options.
