Dad's are the best.

Since my mom was like "No Deckplate mod!" I turned to my dad. I was like, "Dad, you know how sons and fathers have that secret that mom's never know about. Let me do the deckplate mod." He said, "I don't mind you doing it, but don't mess up." So, I got the clearance. Picked up a deckplate today at the marina, it was 4" white one, I so painted it black. So, the pressure is on to prove it to my mother. If she'll even notice. Im doing it tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes.

Eh, if she gives you any grief show her how it's "reversable" (screw cover on). Moms like that sort of modding.

Now don't screw it up!
A mom.

Then later when mom hears or sees something new,
she finds out....

then i give her a little speech, send her to some YT link and then she is like.
"FINE!" in that annoying sort of your right town but i hate it...

I get that speech every time i hit the trials...
Now she is mad though since I have successfully gone through trials without any damage,
She wont let me go unless i have at least a grand in savings in case anything happens...

haha yeah when i bought my taco it took a lot of convincing. their vision of my offroading was what they see on espn where a truck runs full speed up a steep hill and either makes it while getting air or rolls backwards all the way back down. they only ever see the extreme stuff and assume thats what will happen to me, even though ive rarely been in off-camber situations.

yeah everyone in my family thinks that the type of off-roading I do is Baja Style...
How a rig covered in mud gets that title, i will never know...

Ha, like I wouldn't let him do the mod. Might even help a little.

First 4Runner, parents were reluctant at first to letme do anything to it until I tossed it to 'em as a "father son" project. Then, my mom kinda quit complaining... She doesn't even complain about the Lexus SC400 donor car in the back yard . Funny thing is, I might be buying another Yota at the end of the week.... Sheesh!

Anyways, best of luck to you and don't screw it up...

I loved that speech until they started to enforce it..... when my jeep went down in college they helped me out...... they gave me 35 dollars to help me buy a bike!!!
