Cut-Out Flares Question

I have searched the forums and have came up empty handed on my questions so here it goes.

What actually gets cut during the installation of Bushwacker Cut-Outs for 95-04 Tacomas?

Below is a FAQ on Bushwackers website.
Question: Do I have to cut sheet metal to install Cut-Out flares?
Answer: All Bushwacker Cut-Out Fender Flares except some Toyota Cut-Out applications require sheet metal removal for installation. Our installation instructions simplify the process, it is best to read the application’s installation instructions before purchasing.

Do the Tacomas even require cutting?

Isn't that the point of a Cut-Out Flare, more tire clearence?

With the cutting that takes place does it allow for more tire clearence?

I am wondering if the installation of a 6" Fabtech lift with 35x12.5 or 35x13.5 on 15x10 rims AND the Cut-Out Flares rub? The last time I checked this combination would rub but my curiosity rose again after seeing the Cut-Out Flares that Bushwacker sells.

I am basically wondering if the Cut-Out Flares would yield the required additional clearence needed for a 35" tire. Sorry for the winded message.

Thanks for any info!
