Cruise Control Fixed on 2cnd gen

I think I may have fixed my cruise controls ability to stay in overdrive.

Thanks to a post by dandeman at 4x4wire.com who had a fix for an older Toyota.

The problem I had and I believe others as well, is that when using the cruise control it often wanted to kick overdrive off in situations where it wasn't warranted - like cruising on level ground (bad cruise).

I cut wire no. 7 (Yellow with a Red Stripe) coming out of the CC ECU in the left kick panel. My wiring diagram indicated that this wire on CANADIAN vehicles was involved with the O/D relay.

I have since completed 3 - 200 mile trips and the cruise worked as it should. It still kicks overdrive out, but only going up hills. It works the same as if I was using my foot on the throttle. I have thought I'd fixed it before and it worked well for a few trips but I'm hoping this is the real cure.

disclaimer - I really have no idea what I'm doing so I don't know if this will have any negative impact on my transmission or will work on other years-models- or country of origin
