Cranking SAWs
Hey guys! I read a previous post and seems as everyone pretty much has their SAWs cranked with about 2 1/2 inches of thread showing under the adjustment ring. I just put mine on and have 1 1/4 inches of thread showing and it is a mother to crank. Does this seem normal?
I have it supported by the frame on stands and no tires on.

Mine aren't a devil to adjust. It takes some muscle, but no problem. Have you tried oil or WD40 on the threads at all? If not, that should help. I haven't had to resort to that and they still turn easily enough for me.
Otherwise, hit the weight room!

Yea! Oh ya I did remove the hex stopper screw. The shot of lubricant did the trick! It was dry and binding. Now it is smooth and not making a horrible screeching sound. I am happily cranking away! Thanks a million!!!!!!!

I finished cranking away. Got them set at 2 5/8" of thread. I put the tires back on and took around the block to settle. Final measurements are 4 1/2"????
Stock was drivers front at 34 1/4" from gound to fender and 34 9/16" passenger. Now the driver side is 37 9/16" and passenger side is 38 1/16" Will these settle a bit or do I need to unwind them? Trial and error sucks!

You are correct on the trial and error thing, but you will definitely want to bring 'em down a bit.
Mine settled 1/4" or 1/2" in the first week. That is with the weight of the TJM, so you may not experience the same results, or at least that quickly.
You got a lot of lift for as little thread as you have showing. I have 3 4/16" and am at 2.5". I believe others are at similar numbers as I have. Hmmm.

Excellent point! Oh, by the way guys... I added a Revtek 1" diff drop in the front. Is there some sort of test that will tell me for sure whether it is set too high? I haven't cranked them down yet. My OME HD springs in the back are monsters. Got 3" there. If I lower the front, It'll look funny. I'll post some pics later.
Maybe after some I'll have strength to takle the RB 2" body lift tomorrow?
