Cargo door lifts
One thing that urks me on my Runner is that the hydralic lifts for the cargo door are just too damn slow for me..I mean, i'm only 6' tall and it seems im always ducking my head every time. Is there a way i can adjust them? Kinda like a screen door has? Or is there a place I can buy a pair that are better....hmm, maybe Rancho sells something......
EDIT: How the hell can i change the Crago to Cargo.rrrrr. I have a rough life. At least Joe Gibbs came back.

Maybe the guy was on the sauce too.
I looked a maybe recharging them (old engineer in me at work).
Maybe just add a schrader valve (drill and tap) and use a shock pump?

lift supports
I just installed ONE yesterday. What a difference. I bought just ONE to try out at Auto Zone $29. Had to order but it was here the next day. Advanced Auto can order also. I think they are guaranteed for as long as you own your runner so you can't go wrong! Installing just one new one pops mine up pretty good. The one I replaced was totally shot.

My guess is they didn't want it flipping up too fast and catching someone in the chin. I'm usually doing the duck and cover to speed up the process.
Did the autozone ones work better?

Sorry for the hijack.....mine is likely just from time and the gas leaking out of the cylinders.
It has gotten progressively worse with time (used to spring up by itself).

mcmaster-carr.com has tons of different shocks. i don't know if they would be faster than the stock ones but since they're not that expensive you could try them.
i put a huge ricey spoiler on my car and the hatch wouldn't stay up, i got new shocks from there and they work great.
there's a picture and formula to figure out how strong of a shock you need on their website. i needed to send my shocks back a few times before i got the correct strength.

Looks like it is off to autozone for me.
Hey graybeard, what the part # was for the correct strut?

Many of the aftermarket ones, such as StrongArm, are better than OEM. Don't get OEM struts, their price is rediculous.
Just about any parts store should have them. Carquest sells StrongArm.
Not unusual to replace them, I've had to on every hatched vehicle I've owned. OEM ones only seem to last a few years, especially in cold weather, where problems become more noticeable.
