Had to adjust my rear drums this morning (the e-brake adjustment would not work as they were too far out) when I jacked it up and adjusted them I did so until I could get the tire to roll (freewheeling) one revolution and then it stops on its own.

Now someone else has told me that you should adjust until you feel a drag or resistance when you turn by hand, and there should be no way it would turn one complete revolution unless you turn it by hand. So which one is it?

 

You want it close, but to do it until you feel constant drag on the wheel will heat the drums up alot until the material wears away and the drum spins freely again. You were doing it correctly the first time but I would adjust them now and then try them again after a week of driving. You can also use the "reverse and pull the e-brake" method for later adjustments.

 

Thats exactly what I said about the drums heating up. Lot of misinformation out there, and this friend works at a Dodge dealership.
