coolant question

hey all
i searched for this but, here is the deal:
i finished my truck (head rebuild and of course gaskets) last week and got it started, i drove it and when i parked it coolant poured out of the thing somehow, well i found out where it was coming from and fixed it so no more leaks. i didnt get a chance to put coolant in it at all but not very much spilled out. the truck still stayed cool (very cool actually). so i took it down to my mech. for a final tune of the engine (timing, fuel, general check over etc.)

well my over flow tank was full with coolant but the radiator was not. i drove it for the first time today since the rebuild and the coolant in the overflow tank is completely gone. and there is no possibility of a leak anywhere in the engine. i was wondering if, since the rad. isnt full, would it take the coolant from the overflow tank and circulate it thru the engine or is it just evaporating?

Radiator pulls coolant from overflow tank when low. If it's leaking, you'll smell it.
