Hey people!!
New guy here. I have been surfing the forums for a while now and love the Site. I have noticed alot of friendly and knowledgeable people on here. Hopefully someone can help. I am currently deployed to some place with a lot of sand. My wife is taking care of my Toy. She took it in for an oil change last week and the dealer said that one of the rear axle seals was torn. It was in the shop today to have it fixed and they told here that the Brake shoes were contaminated. I know they wernt worn cause I changed them in Feb before I deployed. The seal was replaced under warranty, but they wont touch the shoes under warranty. Shouldnt the dealer replace the shoes if the contamination was caused by a part that was still under warranty? I think so. Just curious on everyone elses thoughts. Another thing anyone had problem with the clutch pedal pivot bushing on a 99 SR5? They are fixing it for the second time in a year. One last thing, I have read a few posts where people suggested writing to Toyota about dealers. Im assuming to just use the link off of their webpage? If anyone know something different please let me know. Hard to surf the web off a connection slower than dialup

 

I have seen posts where the dealer did the shoes free, and others where they didn't. Hope is wasn't because it was a female that wouldn't know.

I would have her try to get the shoes free. Talk to service manager and/or district rep.

I would actually call Toyota customer service directly for a straight answer since the dealer will make more money if you have to pay for the brakes yourself.
