I am confused. I had previously asked how to silence a noisy speedometer on a 95 4runner. The guys who were installing the indiglo guages were most helpful. I appreciate that. From that info, I think I understood that the speedometer on a 95 is electric. Therefore the noise would be caused by the odometer cable.right? What confuses me is that the speedometer behaves erraticly. Yesterday it read 70mph when I was going about 50. So can the odometer cable cause that to happen? If so, am I looking at more than lubrication? I have been living with this waiting for it to get warm enough to work on. Even in the garage it has been too darn cold. Appreciate any insights.
