Coloring coil's?

Is there anyway to spray paint the coil's a color with them still on? does anyone think its possible to tape up alot of stuff under the car and spraypaint them red? Im thinking the front might be impossible because the shock is inside the coil. (3rd Gen)

I may be wrong, but I'd think that the spray paint would stand a good chance of chipping/cracking later on after your coils compress and extend when you are wheeling and stuff. Maybe I'm way off, but just thought I'd throw that in as something to think about.

Answer: Theoretically, yes. Feasibly, no. Your best bet is to remove them and get them powder coated if you want to change the color.

I think that if you painted them with them on the vehicle you would end up with overspray everywhere and the time it would take to mask them you could take them off. I also think that paint would chip. You can powercoat them or you can buy a can of this rubber spray or rubber dipping stuff at your local hardware store for about $6. The rubber usually comes in a variety of colors.
