I'm trying to install my CB finally. Everything looks great except getting the POS in the radio bracket in the dash.

For the folks that have done this, did you just pound the tabs on the mounting bracket flat, and not worry about attaching the CB to anything (letting it ride loose in the slot)?

The hole pattern on the radio sides sure don't match the bracket.

I have the right angle adapter, so I think I can get it relatively flush in there. Does it make any different if it is in the high or low slot for that?

Mine just sits in there and is not anchored down. It fits nice and snug as is. It doesn't move a bit. I'm not sure what I would've done if there was some play in it, though. I think I remember things not lining up for me, too.
