Godzilla you will notice feel the clutch sliping when you first engage the cluth or going up hills. Hills and starting are the most stress full on the clutch. Towing is also stressful. It's really not about mileage but some clutches wear as fast as 68000 kilometers. My '95 started to slip about 120000 km. Cost of parts is under CAN$220. Labor is more expensive about CAN$80 per hour for a certified mechanic. So the whole thing could be CAN$400-500. Don't forget to change your slave cylinder when the clutch is changed.

An old, tried, and true test:
Place shifter in neutral.
Apply parking brake.
Depress clutch pedal.
Shift into first gear.
Slowly release clutch (note that parking brake is still applied).
If the vehicle stalls, your clutch is engaging the flywheel enough.
If the vehicle doesn't stall, the clutch is slipping and you need to replace it.
If you want to know if the end is near, look for things such as RPMs moving up while you press down on the gas, but speed staying constant. But, for the most part, as long as it passes the above test you're ok.
