98 Black SR5

98 4runner. I have the rotary knobs and slide knobs. I turn on the fan and nothing comes on. If I slide the outside/recirculating knob back and forth real fast and hard, the fan will kick on. As soon as I shut it off and try to turn the switch back on, same thing. I can't keep using the fresh air/recirc slide, cause I know that can't be good for it. any suggestions?

u might want to pull the switch area and look at the wires and see if one might at the solder point broke or cracked. my wifes highlander knob only did the cold and when i pulled it i found a wire was broke, re-soldered it and works great now.
