I don't think there should be any way for the rotor to move because it gets squeezed between the hub and the rim when you torque the lugs. Something doesn't sound right there....be careful because if it really is doing what you say, your future prediction might become reality one day!
Torque is about 82 lbs. Stock SR5 15in steel spoked rims. It is not a big problem. It is one explanation/place to check for the original question.

update?

any update on this? I hear it when i back up sometimes and now when i turn and acclerate after i put it back into drive....today i got a loud clunk on the drivers side when taking a left turn..sounded like i ran over a full soda can but i could feel the vibration under my foot......any help is appreciated

I get it when I back up out of parking spaces a lot, kind of a clunk and sometimes a rubbing noice coming from front drivers tire.

haven't gotten to it yet, though i highly suspect the steering rack and bushing replacement. i have to do this

Have you checked your swaybar endlinks? I had a worn one and it would give me one clunk whenever I was stopped and making a left hand turn. It must be sitting solid/bound up normally, but something about that movement made it clunk.
