Hi I am debating between two diff size tires for my 1996 4runner Limited. I will be mounting a lift kit to allow for 33" tires. I would like to put on 305/70/16's, however all the postes are saying 285/75/16. Can anyone let me know if my first choice will work, its about .7" wider on either side than the 285/75/16's, the diameter is 33" for both. I will be putting the tires on a 16x8 rim and I will need to figure out how much lift to accomidate. Either 2" front and 2.5" back or 2.5" front and 3" back (I want to level back and adjust for custom bumper tire carrier weight in future).

Any feedback on this project would be appreciated. Thank You!

if you get the right rim, it should work

 

I have a 3 inch lift right now, and I'm waiting to get my 2 body lift, and wheel spacers. Im trying to clear 33x12.50s

 

I've got the 285/75-16 with a three inch lift and there is maybe one centimeter between the tire and the upper suspension wishbone. I can't see how 0.7 inches would fit. Maybe the 16x8 rim will help things out.
