I do either Discount Tire or Sam's Club. Discount tire will let you put whatever size you want. I had talked to someone at Sam's and they claimed they could only put on the OEM sized tires. Sam's was cheaper than DT - and the prices they list include mount and balance. See if you can find someone that will do 35s.

Holy Cow! BFG MTs in 31x10.50 are only $560 total price at America's tire(Discount tire.) The Kumho MTs are $480, mounted and balanced! A few months ago the local Walmart quoted me $560 for 35x12.50R15 B.F.G. MTs. That must be some expensive nitrogen.

Discount will match Sam's or anywhere else - plus they have a *great* extra unconditional guarantee for usually under $20 per tire - 33" down only though.

You are correct for the TIRES THEMSELVES, lets do a little math. 480 for tires plus 24 a piece for road hazzard we have $576 ok add 6% for sales tax im guessin you have that in oregon we have $610.56. Any place will give you a qutoe on just the tires not for the extras and tax unless you ask.

See if you can find a local shop that carries ProComp tires. I know some people dont' like em, but i love mine. i got 305/75/16's Mud's for 585 out the door. Then Town Fair Tire was 44 and change for mount and balance. I got the buy 3 get 1 free deal in the spring, and they are running the same sale now. They are siped so wet traction hasn't been an issue at all. All the rain we got up here the last two weeks were no prob for the tires.

Town fair is a rip off for tires though. They quoted me 205 a tire for Yoko AT II+ and you can get them on discount tire for 109 or so for 285/75/16's

Also, the money you save in tax is pretty much what shipping costs when buying online. Summit stuff comes fast too. Two days to get my rims from them.

Costco will install larger than stock tires. I've seen it done.

Sam's club and WalMart both have great deals on MTRs, Walmart will match prices as well as America's/Discount Tire. Find some ads/receipts online.

Procomp is doing buy 3 get 1 free.

Interco Trxus MTs are a great deal and I've heard alot of positive response to them

Sorry, but those prices were out the door on the rig, mounted and balanced, all warranties included. You are correct about watching out for the extrras - I've bought enough tires over the decades to know about total costs... :pat: This is why I have never bought from Tire Rack - by the time you add it up it's not anywhere near the cheapest in town.
I ended up with the ProComps I have now mostly out of curiosity, never had any of those before, and the little independent tire shop made me a price match deal - they matched Walmart's BFG price! Had to give them my business. (Oh, and we also don't have sales tax in Oregon )
