Cheap "Decent" Shocks
Sears is running a special on the Monroe Sensa-Trac LT/SUV shocks for about $25 apiece with lifetime warranty. Would these shocks suck considering I do 80% on-road, 10% gravel/dirt and 10% off-road driving?
Any other "under $40" shock recommendations? Thanks.

Tried those on my '89 a few years ago. Returned them the next day (never even got off the pavement!). Went with some I got from CarQuest (I think Heckethorn makes them). They're just as good as any others I found for less than $70 each (& 1/2 the price).

Ranchos are alright, they are pretty stiff at high speeds (30mph+) with potholes and road bumps. But slower speeds they seem good. Haven't had trail experience with them, and I have a P/U, so your ride might be a little softer.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Stop screwing around and get some shocks! I know some of us are restrained to a budget but I guarantee if you go cheap now you'll regret it later. Save your money and get some Bils or Edelbrocks or something equilvelent!

can't go wrong with the Pro-Comp es 3000,10 stage velocity sensitive valving, self adjusting,5/8 chrome piston rod, twin wall bla,bla bla. I think all these big name offroad manufacturers have put alot of research into there shocks..for your money you probably can't go wrong with any of them

KYB Gas shocks at Tire rack for about $32.00 ea.! Nothing fancy but they will last forever and a huge improvement over stock and the Monroes. They a a good inbetween between stock and Bils or Eldebrocks.
