cd player problem

Has anyone ever had issues with the stock cd player in a 2000 limited 4 runner?

I have never had issues until now, it takes the cd, attempts to read it, and then spits it back out. If this is a common problem are there any TSB's out on it??

Thanks

its probably got a bunch of dirt on it if youve been wheelin at all. what you need tyo do is take it out and apart a little and get one of those cans of dust off (compressed air) and blow the whole thing out. if that doesnt work then look into buying an aftermarket stereo.

The laser has probably gotten bumped out of alignment. That is usually pretty expensive to fix and wouldn't be worth it on a stock deck. You can try one of those cleaner CDs for the heck of it; maybe it's just real dirty. If that doesn't work you can try to take it apart and clean it real well. Otherwise it's time to start shopping!

I had this problem recently for the 2nd time (1st time warranty covered it) in my '00

Someone here gave me a link to a do-it-yourself solution. Do a search, and find my old post. too lazy to do it myself sorry.
