CD Changer W/ FM Modulator Question
Im thinking of purchasing a Sony 10 Disc CD changer with FM Modulator from a friend which he's selling for dirt cheap. What Im wondering is how is the quality of the music through FM radio compared to a CD changer that can work through the CD Player (Pioneer)? Does anybody have any info or can help me with this.
Thanks

Well i have my XM radio thru an FM modulator and its pretty nice. it lacks a LITTLE bass and has a slight hissing sound at low volume
but i got used to it and dont notice anything wrong with it anymore
but best thing to do would get one that is compatable with your head unit and just use that. that's if you're stingy about the sound of your stereo
I'm half deaf so it doesnt bother me

Before you buy that you should check out the new sony changer. They play mp3's and are only $300 canadian with fm modulator and $250 without FM modulator if you have a sony deck.
That's my next investment in the audio department (I have a sony deck). I figure that should be about 10 Disc * 10 hours of music each. That will last awhile.

Well, nowadays there aren't so many clearchannel stations (only stations in country with a specific radio frequency), so you might get interference from random signals. I'd say for best results, place the FM modulated signal transmitter as close to the radio as possible. Direct-connect, (for Pioneer it's called IP-Bus) changers have no interference. What's your buddy asking for it? Maybe you could find a direct-connect for cheaper.
