CB question

Before i start, i did search and couldnt find what i needed.
The cable to my antenna for my cb got mangled the other day. i am looking at replacing the whole antenna, probably with a firestick. If i were to mount and tune the antenna and were to get a new cb at a later time, would i have to retune the antenna. or would it be fine cause it hasnt moved.

It would be best to re-tune it with the new CB. It a matter of all of the parts working together, since all radios are not created equally. What kind of Firestick did you have in mind? I have a 4' F-II with a couple of brackets that I have been thinking about selling. The coax is toast, though...

I think the general rule is to tune whenever anything changes.

I have a CB question, too. I hope you don't mind the slight hijack. My coax has 2 big ends on it, both fit on the back of the CB, but there is no way to hook it to the antenna. I have a firestik II. Is there an adapter? I saw a pic of a complete mounting kit that had 2 different ends, and one was like a circle, so it went between the mount and the antenna like a washer, but I haven't found one anywhere. Is that it, or is there something else? And where would I find one if it is what I need?

There's going to be 2 kinds of antenna mounts that will take that washer type connection and the cable box type connection.

Scroll down this page and you'll see the two different kinds of connections on the different mounts:
