The channel style mount that goes inbetween the top of a front fender and hood sill is the best. Sold by firestik as well, and get the firestik 2 tunable tip antenna. I get a lot of my stuff from walcottcb.com

I bought all my stuff from Amazon.com. I bought the mount that mounts in the back hatch door jamb below the tail light. I think it looks better than fender mount and while it may not be the best location, I only use mine for offroading and I've never had a problem transmitting or receiving within my group. I got the swivel door jamb mount, firestik II 4' antenna, and 18' coax cable ...all firestik brand and all for about $70 shipped.

Driffter33 over on t4r.org makes a nice antenna mount for (I think) $27 shipped. He's a friend and his mounts are nice. Here's his thread..
