Are the cat converter on the 6 cyl. the same as 4 cyl.?
I have to replace the cat on my 97' 4Runner 2.7 4X4. I have shopped around online and with a local muffler shop and I cannot find one except for the 6 cyl. cat. The muffler shop says that they take the same unit, but before I buy one, does anyone here know for sure? I'm on a budget and I dont wanna pay the $1200 the dealership is quoting for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a difference, and it aint cheap. The integrated down pipe and cat is dumb, the dealership quoted me $1300. Must be why people are stealing em'.
