Can a new shift sensor be bad??

Recently I've had the dreaded P0755 code come up. So, I needed to replace shift sensor B. I figured while they are in there that they might as well replace the other two.

Everything has been fine for two weeks and the dang code came back up. So, I was wondering if it's possible that this one sensor (all toyota sensors) might be a bad one or if something else could cause this problem?

I'm trying to get the mechanical stuff done and it's starting to drive me nuts.
