Hey guys I have a 02 tacoma v6 supercharged. I am going to do the intake silencer mod of the truck tommarrow. when i look in the how too's they all say to cut the intake tube and put in a peice of stainless steel to connect where you cut. couldnt you just put a pvc plug or soemthing in place of where the intake silencer was. all it would be is a 1"5/8 o.d. plug. would that be the same thing with no cutting a no hassle, paint the plug black and your all set. and then that other little "J" shaped silencer thing after the main silencer would be the same thing? right??? thanks guys.

In fact, there's even a writeup around that lists which size of slip-cap makes the best fit.
