Question camry engine swap

Does anybody know of a website or anybody period that has done a 89 camry 2.4L v-6 to 83 hilux engine swap. I've been looking for days for a link or imfo. Is it similiar to a corrolla or a supra motor?

You're gonna be blazing a new trail. Swapping a fwd engine into a rwd application is not easy. Bellhousings are all different, motor mounts and coolant fiittings are in screwy locations. I'm not saying it can't be done, but there's gonna be a lot of custom fabrication on your part.

By the time you complete this monster project, you will have spent as much as it would cost to put in a 7MGTE or a 3.4L, why did you have the 2.4L camry engine in mind? Have one lying around the garage? It will still probably cost more to install than selliing it and putting that towards a 3.4L.

re: camry engine

The reason why is just that. I've got a running camry right now and I'd like to put that engine in. The thing redlines a 7000rpm and goes like snot. I'm a custom truck accessory fabricator by trade so the install would be simple. But if the bellhousing is different then its not worth my time. I checked Advance Adapters but all they've got if Chevy stuff.

An no one will have an adapter for it. It just isn't a practical swap.

Corolla is 1.6 or 1.8 or 2.0 depending on the year. Supra is I6 at various displacements also.

So no, its not.

And keep in mind it wont "go like snot" when you drop it in a truck that weighs 1000 more pounds.

By all means trailblaze this one, but its going to be a long long road.

camry

The camry is coming off the road in about 3 months when I get my truck done so I'll meaure it then. It's still got a big aluminum rad with dual fans that I'll use and seats that are like a Cadillac compared to mine. And I bet that my truck doesn't weigh a much as the camry. 4dr, AC, bigger motor, etc...
