I do admit though, the black Runner that Dublin posted looks pretty nice.

Hey Dublin, is that cowl hood functional? If it is I would be interested to know where you purchased it as I'm looking at getting one of those.

I don't know rocket, The tint on the bottom of the windshield looks pretty ghetto to me. it's all personal preference though, Im not flamin ya. I'm not a huge fan of the visors for the most part, except on 2nd gens and 89-95 p/u, seems to be the only vehicle they look good on.
My fear with those visors would be munching it on a tree limb, the paint will fade over time, its fiberglass..... maybe if I hit the lotto....

Thanks for the kind words, I like it too. As for the cowl hood, no it's not functional and I may pull it off and rework it this summer. It isn't bought i made it from a spare hood for my Runner and a bent hood from my Chevy. I do know they now make one for a 4Runner, saw a post here a while back. As for visors on 4Runners I guess I'm use to them had one on my 1st gen and on my first Toy a 79 4x4 pickup I bought new. The guys at the stealership weren't sure what to think after I brought it in for service (after going to a van conversion shop where I had the topper sealed against the cab, a nicely fit grommet in place where the back of the cab was to crawl into the bed, 2 in. lift, oversized all terrains, buckets ect.). Guess I was wanting a 4runner before they were made, the conversion cost almost as much as the rig back then.

Ya, i know what your sayin'. I've only seen the upper and lower tint on "ricers" and on my friends 1999 4x4 Dodge truck. Riding in the Dodge seems like your in a jet plane and from the outside it looked sweet. I'm trying to picture how it'd look on a 2nd gen Runner though with the same level of tint all the way around. My main reasons for wanting it on the windshield is cutting down the Colorado sun glare and of coarse extra privacy

well, as it turns out the "cowl" featured here ... http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/custom_pieces.htm ... is actually the trim piece for the hood just below the windshield wipers -- not a visor.

still looking... any ideas much appreciated...

thanks all!

I do like the looks of dark window tint across the top of the windshield and maybe even a little strip across the bottom. Im getting mine done soon.
