budget throttle response?

what are some ways to gain better throttle response?
if this helps any, i just ordered a magnaflow muffler, airraid throttle body spacer, and a k&n cold air intake for my runner. I am told i will gain some power from this combo but i also want a gain in throttle response... any input is appreciated.

It's worth your time to clean the throttle body, Idle Air Control Valve, and Mass Air Flow Sensor if you haven't already.

Throttle body and MAF:

If you're taking the TB off to get at the IAC, just clean the TB while it's off, as you'll get a better job done.

You could have saved you lots of money and same or better HP gains by not getting the K&N kit by doing the deckplate mod. Search the wiki section and you'll see it.

Or you could have bought my K&N!

Cleaning the TB and stuff is actually what gave me the most noticeable change in response.

This is actually not near as good as the bruteforce dryfilter cold air intake but will yield better than the deck plate mod!

and yes cleaning the TB will help a lot.

But as some one said earlier a header is the next option and if you want more after that then the supercharger is better than the turbo set ups but the turbo is cheaper~

By the way I have heard that the TB spacer does nothing.

You may get a little gain from the muffler and the CAI but not much.

you will get throttle response however the horse power gain will be minimal ..... for true HP gain you will need a Forced air and/or header

that parts list doesn't sounds like budget to me. return that throttle body spacer. it really doesn't do anything. do the TRD O gasket mod instead

Second that. I've heard from many people the TB Spacer does nothing (maybe make a little whistle noise or something like that).

I have a K&N Kit on mine. It helped a little bit, not enough on our engines for the money. It's always a sore topic on here for some reason. I personally like K&N and never had any negitive results from them. Others would rather eat their young then to put one on. Save and get a snorkle maybe.

I've heard good things with the TRD O Gasket and I plan on doing it myself someday.

Something no one has listed yet is check the cables on your TB. Tighten them (they stretch \ loosen over the years)

There is also a thread on here stating the "Deckplate Mod" doesn't do anything either. He had some great science backing his statements. I've never done it so I have no opinion on it.

Combine the elbow & ISR mods

with the muffler. I did the ISR, elbow mods and installed a dynomax super turbo muffler. Once i reset the EFI fuse and started using 89 octane fuel the throttle response and pull is improved a lot. yeah me
