Recently my brake light came on and it wouldn't go off. I had tried everything from adjusting the parking brake, to replacing the pads.

The answer was right in front of me, the cap to the brake fluid container was shot. I completed the circuit and the light went out, so as of right now its unplugged until I can get a new one. Hopefully this helps some people

 

mine has been on for a while...actually my dad told me the same thing happened to his and that sensor in the brake fluid cap goes out causing the light to stay on. sometimes mine will go off but far in between.
