Brake brand for rotors/pads recommendation?
Gonna change my rotors, and pads soon.
Any recommendations?
Nothing too fancy...
Was going to go to Kragen or Pep Boys,
but didn't know what brand or Type was
reputable.
Thanks!

Just don't know which one of the two is better.
When I get my sluggish brakes fixed, I'll go for a pair of DBA slotted rotors.

Toyota. they are quality. the lifetimers you get from the auto parts places are junk, thin junk and the pads and shoes separate from the frames. stick with oem brake parts if you want quality and longevity.

Should I go with toyota made Rotors and pads?

Cross-drilled ones are not recommended for heavily-laden light trucks.
HTH.

yea, Toyota doesn't have slotted or cross-drilled. I also agree that things last longer, as well as fit better when left oem. there are a few here that have aftermarket brake stuff like slotted rotors and I hope they chime in soon. OEM pads are about twice as thick as the cheap lifetimers from autozone or those places. your gonna pay 30+ for oem pads but they are going to brake better and last longer.

Go with Brembo. So far the cheapest I've seen is on this website. I've heard that OEM rotors have a tendency to warp over time so I would go with aftermarket rotors, that's what I'll do my next brake job.
As for pads, well, OEM seems the way to go. Hope this helps.

I believe Performance Friction make the TRD pads and the same pads are at Autozone but they have them listed as Land Cruiser pads. I am pretty sure there has to be pads/rotors that are better than OEM b/c my brakes have been soft and sucked from Day 1. It is time for a change soon.
