That is the exact same display that I have. Where your temp says 70° mine would say 21°. On a day like today where the outside temp is 48° mine reads 8°. Maybe I need to buy a secret decoder ring for my settings.

C x 9/5 + 32 = F

I think. Just write this below the display and tell everyone you have it in C because you like to do math in your head.

I'd bet that it's two buttons together, or a button + one of the knobs. I'd start with the mode button + every other control. If you end up with it reading degrees kelvin plz don't blame me though

My 4Runner was originally a Canadian model. I've got the same display and have never found anything that says how to change it and I have the electrical diagrams and two volumes of the service manual. I find it hard to believe that they would actually make two versions of the hardware, but that must be what they did. I don't know what you would have to change to get a different display either.

I keep thinking I should put a "cheat sheet" in to make the conversion simpler, but end up doing the calculation in my head or for just a rough idea, multiply the reading by 2 and add 32. Its 4 degrees off at 20C which isn't too bad. For inside temps, the exact temp isn't that important as long as you start out in the low 20s C and adjust up or down from there for comfort. In general, I only worry about the outside temp when it starts getting down around the freezing mark and 0 = freezing is pretty easy to remember.

Still no luck. I think I am going to take it to a dealership today instead of trying to talk with them on the phone.

If you can watch what they do & post it up here. I googled & searched other toyota forums for an answer for you & it seems to come up periodically but no one ever has an answer. Most of them just had a single reply "read your manual" which isn't very helpful.

1sttoyotaparts.com has the heater control module for the ltd, list price $780, their price $560. OUCH!
