Hey Everyone! I have been reading the board here for months and love the wealth of information that it has to offer. I bought my second Toyota this past October and have had nearly all my questions answered by doing a simple search here, but there is one thing i simply can't figure out. My truck is a 1996 4Runner Limited, however on the lift gate it has both the SR5 badge and the Limited Badge mounted to the left of the license plate. I have the limited cladding/fender flares as well as the leather interior with wood grain, so i know that badge is accurate, but why the SR5 badge? Did it just get stuck on at the dealership on a whim or is there a reason it is there? I have never seen another 4Runner with both....

 

maybe you have the very special and rare limited sr5? i've only heard of such things... or maybe two 4runners mated and one was an sr5, the other a limited?

really, definitely sounds like a limited with your package (i believe the wood grain makes it Limited for sure!). probably the previous owner stuck it on. who knows? maybe it's a new ploy to market older 4runners at the dealer- never know how low they'll go.

 

Also keep in mind that the SR5 also means that it is color coordinated., same color flares and interior and so on. Mike

 

Do you have the pushbutton 4wd? If so, you for sure have a Limited. If not, someone probably added the leather and cladding and slapped on the Limited badge.

 

Thanks a lot guys! I do have the push-button 4wd, so its a factory limited for sure...Beartracker, when you say that the sr5 refers to same color flares and interior, what part of the interior should match?
