I really don't know what to suggest then, i would think it would have to be something like a bushing or something is bent. I would assume something would have to have changed to cause the lean, and if it didn't lean when you first put the lift on then im not sure.

Well if some of the other body mounts are dry rotted why not just replace all your body mounts? That seems like the most closely related option we have here. Also the dealership idea wasnt bad. Drop in and take a look at another one or two 4runners, or ever the walmart parking lot. lol

i will probably end up replacing all the body mounts anyways but i dont want to just throw parts at this problem and hope that one of them fixes it, that can get way expensive, way fast.

i am gonna go by toyota tomorrow and take a look around and then if i cant find a difference i am going to let the service dept. look at it

What is the difference in height from side to side f/r? I really cant tell by battery lenghts! haha., nah your front does look like it is sunk. Once again this lean is somewhat normal, but that looks pretty significant

may sound silly, but jack the truck up from each corner separately by the suspension and see if anything changes, then jack front up behind center diff (not by suspension), set down, and do same with rear somewhere such as rear tow or frame area... maybe something is not seated right...

It honestly sounds like something has slipped out of place, or something (rock) is stuck somewhere it isnt supposed to be

and give your upper control arm/a-arm and knuckle on DS a REALLY good check... Neither of those should bend, and I forget if the upper arm is adjustable, but you seem to have a rash on side of DS front tire which may have contributed to significant side loading of your front suspension.

check around in engine compartment where everything mounts to the frame, and also check your engine and engine mounts...

You are right, this does not look normal, and something has to be wrong somewhere, not to worry you any more

I had a blown front shock in the drivers side. My 4runner looked almost like yours. I got new shocks (stock replacement) for the front. problem solved.

i was kind of thinking that it had something to do with the front of the truck, because when im looking at it, i dont know if its the vehicles lines or what, but it seems to be sinking on the driver front and just kinda pulling the rear with it...

im due for a new suspension anyways, but im still going to take it to toyota tomorrow or the next day and see what they say before i go drop a g stack on a new lift

alright, so i have just got the new coils and shocks i ordered (OME front) installed and took it for a test drive (no alignment done yet) and the symptoms are really NO BETTER, it still sways and acts the same way it did!

so, first thing tomorrow it goes to get aligned, but what else could this be from? this is starting to piss me off after i just spent 400$ on it and its not fixed

Maybe a stupid suggestion.....but have you taken it to a shop to have them look at it or are you just dropping $$$ to figure it out?? Might have been an inexpensive part compared to the $400 you have already spend...

its not a stupid suggestion, and im not sure of your tone, but yes, i took it to a shop and had them look at it. they couldnt find anything obviously wrong, except for worn out springs and shocks.

Hey there. My body mounts look the same as yours. It looks like it's not touching anything, but I think the bottom mount contacts a cylindrical sleeve which then touches the top mount somewhere. I have the same 'funny' mount on both sides of the truck. It is the mount positioned right in between the front and rear wheels.

For reference, I have a 1997 4Runner Limited V6.

okay, so after a substantial amount of messing around with my front end, it seems as if my outer tie rod is shot to crap which has let my alignment go completely out of whack, so im pretty sure after i replace my outer tie rod and get it aligned it should hopefully fix the lean...

ill keep this thread updated just incase someone else has this problem

alright so after the replacement of the outer tie rod and alignment it is MUCH more level now, perhaps only a 1/4 of an inch difference, is this a normal difference or is something still wrong?

i also discovered when i got my truck back from the shop that my drivers rear axle bearing is shot... the joys of having a truck!
