Body Cutting Worries

I plan on cutting both front and rear fenders today to get rid of rubbing now with my 33's and to make way for 35's KM2's. Anyway I was going to follow the stock body line with a cut off wheel and pretty much take off as much as I can. But what can I do about rust? I know there will be exposed metal once I do it. And maybe even paint chipping. Anybody know a good way to do this and keep it looking somewhat clean?

Paint chipping is avoided by using masking tape over the line you are trying to cut. Just cut down the middle of the tape.

Rust, you will have to prime and paint obviously. Use a good quality primer and paint, or it will just rust rather quickly.

If possible, please take lots of pics of the cutting process. I'd love to see how you did it.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Take your time! I've done front and rear and both times I've hacked it.
