You can install a steelcraft bull bar with steelcraft axuiliary light brackets.

I was faced with the same problem. Here's a little bracket my friend and I fabbed in like 30min. The only thing I would suggest is use some type of channel steal not just ribbon steal. Before we installed those little braces on top of the light my lights had a lot of vibration. I could draw you up a quick sketch of the bracket w/ dimmensions if you would want to see how exactly it mounts.

 

nice work dude.. sad thing is i dont have a way to fab brackets so i will be drilling the bumper. dont want to but i dont think i have a choice unless you make it and i buy it from you? an option maybe? also does it have bad vibration. nothing worse than a vibrating light when you are trying to drive.. thanks man

 

Hey man, I would love to build something and send it out your way. The only problem would be I'd have to convince my friend's dad to let me barrow his welder again and I don't see that happening. I think if the bracket was built out of some type of channel the only vibration would be the movement of your whole truck. Man I need to buy a welder. Haha

 

I built those with some very simple hand tools (hack saw, drill with 2 bits , tape measure, sand paper, pencil, and a straight edge) the hardest parts was finding the material that I used C-channel 1/4 aluminum. No they do not vibrate at all

 

I would mount them higher...like up in the grill or on the cowl on the sides...

Most of the ones I have seen here dont look like they would stay on more than 5 minutes off road

 

Haha well your "Off road" and our off road are different. I'm not tackling any massive piles of boulders. My biggest fear of where my lights are is other drivers in parking lots.

Yeah, that channels is the ticket.

 

Florida = no large rocks so i am not that worried about them getting ripped off, but you make a great piont about mounting being higher and more protected

I just bought a Westin bar for mine, I will find some nice lights for mine here soon.

 

i would love one but i just cant really blow the $$ on stuff like that right now.. they are too pricey for me.. maybe xmas...


so those of you who mounted them directly to the bumper, do they shake bad on or off road?? nothing worse than bright lights that shake like hell..

 

I had the Westin bar for a while and the shaking was WAY worse with it than with them mounted directly on the bumper. They still shake, but unless you mount them on something rigid attached to the frame (like a high end bumper like TJM, ARB, or something custom) they're going to shake to some degree.

Just my 2c, but if you want to actually use those lights off road, a Westin bar or the equivalent is going to make it highly irritating.

 

I found my westin bar used for $40 with brackets, look on E-bay or craigslist
