best lights for tjm-15

im getting a tjm very soon, just waiting on him to find a stock bumper (ranski), anyone in or near kansas with a stock bumper for a 2000 4runner, hit him up on the board, hes on the search. anyways i was planning on putting 2 lights up front on it. what is everyone running, and what would yall recommend? ive got 3 pro comp lights up on the rack that throw the light a good distance down the trail, so i was thinking maybe some lights on the tjm that are very bright for about 10 feet or so? the other variable is the size, i dont know what size light will fit. please vote and post feedback. thanks.

You will want a fog or flood pattern.

lightforce 170s

the beam can be adjusted from pencil beam to flood, and you can use filters to spread the light wide

can't believe no one has said IPF's... I loved mine. So much brighter than the hellas and the PIAA's in the same price range. Dont' know anything about Lightforces though.

yeha but i paid $150 for my 100watt IPF's with everything included.. and they are just as bright as the 4000's IMO that cost over $100 each w/out a wire harness.

Piaa 520' if you want them for looks, what I did and now wish I had not. Not as bright as I would like. A great lamp but i would go for some big lightforce's.

yea on my old 4runner i ran piaa 520's, they werent very bright. i had some rectangular lights from walmart (looks like u got them too), and they were just as bright. now right it looks like im going to either go with the pro comp 6"'s or with the Hella's 550's. i wish i could get some more input...

I'd vote now but don't know alot about those lights, need to do some research. I got a pair of 500's on my rig, seem to do the trick, but hadn't really looked around. I am a few months behind you on that mod, but do plan to upgrade to a better light when I get my TJM around Christmas time, so would like to know how this turns out.

I paid $180 + shipping on ebay for my IPF 900 MSR's. 130W EACH and came w/ the harness. AWESOME light, but they are Driving Beam and aren't meant for on-road, at least not in traffic.

The best bang-for-the-buck is the Hella 500 BY FAR. you can now get them in clear lenses as well if you like that look.

for DRIVING LIGHTS in the 55W class, you can't beat the Hella 500's - no matter how much you spend. the Hella ff1000's are really nice and match the headlights better and are only $95 + shipping on ebay. IPF has the 55W 968 that's a direct competetor for the ff1000's and are a very nice light as well.

for 100W class, the Hella 4000's are a good choice along with the Lightforce 170's.

for 130W class, there's only ONE, and that's IPF!

Hella 500:

Hella ff1000:

IPF 968:

Lightforce 170:

IPF 900:

throw a pair of 55W fogs and a pair of 130W driving lights on w/ High Beams and it's
BRIGHT
to say the least

on long deserted stretches, i can make out OBJECTS at over 3/4 MILE AWAY...
(think aircraft-landing-lights-kind-of-bright... )

Yeah suggested already.......
and I guess its all about which ones you have because my PIAA 580 are for certain brighter than my IPF JOIC's theres prolly a reason for that.
