Best Deal on 3rd Gen Lift Components

I am lifting a 97 runner for street, looks and perhaps some trail work. The goal is to fit 285's. My suspension consultant recommended the following and I need to find the best deal in a reasonable time line.

(2) OME 881 front coils
(2) OME 891 rear coils
(2) OME N86 Firm rear shocks
(2) OME N91S Firm front shocks

(2) 10mm trim packers
(2) 5mm trim packers

If anyone is vending this or has purchased these recently, PM me prices.

Thanks,
Adrian

891 coils with trim packers? youre looking at least 3" from the rear, maybe more if theres no trailer hitch.

i would get either the 890s or 906s for about 2-2.5" lift.

the 881s will give you about 2" lift, i would put 2 5mm trim packers on EACH coil to get to about 2.25-2.5" lift.

The packers are for the front.

The rear should be good with the 891's and a little rake front to rear would be fine.

I got everything minus the trim packers for $630 shipped from 4x4 Rockshop in less than 10 days. I dealt with Mike. Bamachem also used the same guy for his ARB Sahara Bar and some other stuff. I think we'd both highly recommend them as a consideration.

I have bought all my OME from Wheelers in OR and Xtreeme in AZ.

They have the best prices.

Thanks Gents.

I will make some calls on Monday. $630 shipped is a screaming deal.

Thanks for the heads up on the trim packers. I had been advised to use two 5mm packers, hence the 10mm. I stand corrected now.

I'm using 10mm trim packers in the rear of mine with my 891's, I think it looks right and level.

I got my trim packers from Mike at extreme for $10 each and the N86 shocks for $65 each form Mike too.

I installed OME 881/891 and 5mm packers and here is the result.
Got 2.5" up front and 3.25" Behind.

When my tires wear out, I will be putting on some 265/75R16 Mudders.

Have fun, if I could do it again, I would put the OME 882 up front so I can clear 285/75/R16

uh, since when is 2.5" not enough to clear 285s? you got plenty of room.

I had MAJOR rubbage with my 882's and 285's up front with no bumper. Did a 2" (could have done a 1") body lift, and all has stopped. I'm already nose down a bit- good choice on the trim packers, I may add one if my ARB Sahara Bar EVER comes (and the CV's work out).

did you trim the pinch weld?

everyone has rubbing with 285s and stock wheels, everyone. the two most common spots are: upper control arm and frame rail.

I forgot to mention that. No, I did not do any serious trimming, just some light plastic. It helped, a little. But I also rubbed in the back quite a bit at flex. By the time my OME was on, I had already gotten my free Tech1's.

Talking Rubbage

I ran 285s with a 2" body lift and had very little rubbage. I think the rim backspacing has more to do with it than the amount of lift when you are talking over 2". Regardless, 285s take some effort to clear w/ no rubbage offroading, such as pinch weld trimming, liner trimming etc.

What backspacing should a person aim for?

I'd say 4.25", as I had some 4" BS rims and they rubbed worse than the 4.25" ones did and had to grind on the calipers to make them fit without that awful grinding sound!

I was looking at a wheel that has 4 7/16" bs(16x8). would that be too much BS for 285s?

that's because it was a steel wheel. the profile is more limiting than on an alloy wheel.

4 7/16 is one 1/16 shy of 4.5. I run 315's on a 4.5" backspaced wheel.

How the heck do I do that?
