Bed in rear of 1st gen runner?
Ok I did search, several times, actually. I came up with tons of 3rd gen info....but very limited 1st gen stuff.
I remember finding a site 3 years ago when I first got my runner. Someone had built a platform and wired a switch in the rear for the rear window. I can't find it now, but I'd like to see that again.
I am getting ready to build a bed in my 4runner and just wanted to see what everyone else had been doing.
Or is everybody sleeping in tents now?

you should be able to follow any of the 3rd gen kits, just fit it to your i/d's. by switch for the rear are you meaning to be able to lower the window so you can enter and exit through the tailgate?

Yep that's teh switch.
The setup I saw was just a platform suspended, not a whole storage system.
I'm actually in the process of making a custom fit matress for mine. But I was just curious to see what others had doen to first gens
