Bank 1 sensor 1 = before the cat? 2000 4runner
Got the code read, o2 sensor, bank 1 sensor 1, got the new sensor from stealer but when I asked which one it was they were not too helpful just told me what I told them,, bank 1 sensor 1, when I asked if it was on the exhaust before or after the cat they just told me it is on the exhaust (I don't know maybe they are pissed I'm not having their techs put it in for me), or the parts guys just didn't know.
I'm sure one of you out there knows this one...
Please help.
Thanks
Tom

bank1 sub 1 is the sensor before cat,sub2 is after cat.....engine-->sub1--->cat--->sub2.
Probably a heater circuit malfunction, replacing the sensor should fix your problem....Next time get the actual code#,it can help in diagnosing the problem in the future.

i just changed this. look under the pass side by the front wheel on the exhaust pipe. make sure you get the right sensor. theres one for cali spec and non cali spec. dealership can tell you if you supply them with your VIN#
make sure you get the gasket and 2 new nuts.

Thanks everyone.
Quick correction I meant to say sensor 2
Code is P0141 Bank 1 Sensor 2... so that is the one after the cat...
Ironically I just replaced the nuts on both studs 3 months ago, sensor 1 (before the cat) popped out on a trip, nuts rusted right off.
Should be a simple fix.. connector looks easily accessable.
The dealer did use my vin number when ordering the part so hopefully all is correct. Is there anyway I can double check my part number and vin number to confirm all is correct... and that I have the bank 1 sensor 2?
Thanks all
