Holy $#!&, you mean we might actually have a statistically significant dataset here!?!?!?!?! In all my years of internet technical discussions, I have never seen that. Next thing you know I am going to hit a bigfoot on my way home from work tonight...

A04A 4.30
A05A 4.56

Those were the only available options for 96-02 4Runners.

As for Tacomas or any other type of vehicle, no clue. But those are 100% for sure accurate for 96-02 4Runners

Its 4:10 ratio, Do the spin test, it is also stamped on the ring gear, Toyota dealerships (shop with rights to sell toyota's) never know those numbers, it is one or the other, but they should be able to contact Toyota headquarters with the VIN and axle code and replace the 3rd member with that number and the correct ratio. Where are you located, you can get one from ECGS and exchange your unit, give them the VIN and axle code in an email and order through East Coast Gear Supply and have them confirm your axle ratio and order. Sounds like it might be wise to get a complete axle housing and 3rd member from the wrecker.

That is 4.10 for sure, go by the axle codes I posted above.

The spin test is always a good idea if you think your axle has been modified
